Team USA dominated the field at the Jesolo Trophy, nabbing both the senior and junior team titles, as well as both of the top individual podium spots. The junior women also swept the all-around competition.
The senior women posted a team score of 167.950 to move ahead of Brazil (164.650) and Russia (164.600) by more than three points. The juniors scored a big 171.850 to easily win the junior team title over Italy (157.900) and Russia (156.500).
For the seniors, Riley McCusker (MG Elite) won the all-around win with a score of 56.600 and Abby Paulson (Twin City Twisters) took the bronze with a 55.800. Victoria Nguyen (Chow’s Gymnastics) was seventh with a 54.550 and Morgan Hurd (First State) finished in tenth, totaling 53.900. Rebecca Andrade of Brazil was second (56.000). Ashton Locklear (Everest Gymnastics) also contributed to the team win, scoring a 14.750 on bars and 14.000 on beam.
Paulson, Alyona Shchennikova (5280 Gymnastics) and Trinity Thomas (Prestige Gymnastics) competed on a second U.S. squad, which finished in fourth place with a 163.400. Shchennikova was eighth in the all-around (54.500), and Thomas was 15th (53.100).
The USA juniors swept the top four spots in the all-around. Gabby Perea (Legacy Elite) was first with a 57.550, followed by Maile O’Keefe (Salcianu) in second with a 57.300, Emma Malabuyo (Texas Dreams) placed third scoring 56.700, and Adeline Kenlin (Iowa GymNest) was fourth with 55.900. Olivia Dunne (ENA Paramus), finished sixth with a 53.500.
