D-D Breaux, LSU’s Head Coach, will be receiving a 23 percent bump in pay to $240,000 and a two-year contract extension, according to details available on the LSU Board of Supervisors agenda.
Breaux’s contract amendment is set to be approved at the board meeting on June 24. This will extend her contract through the 2019 season. The contract amendment will give Breaux a $45,000 raise from her previous base salary of $195,000/year. This increase comes from Breaux’s most successful season placing the team with the highest finish in school history. The Tigers became the NCAA runner-up champions last April as Oklahoma overtook them in the last rotation.
Beaux is set to coach her 40th season with LSU with the gymnastics team finishing in the top 5 over the course of the last four years. The LSU Tigers have also advanced to the Super Six Finals a total of five times in the last eight years.
Breaux was voted national coach of the year by her fellow coaching peers in 2014. Adding to her list of accomplishments, Breaux was the NCAA Central Region Coach of the Year eight times and is a seven-time Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year.
The Tigers have won 15 Central Region titles.
In 2016, LSU shattered its home attendance record for the fourth consecutive year with an average of 9,906 fans per home meet.
